Note
Butterscotch, hopscotch, & scotch is a brief piece, uncomplicated and direct. Like its three namesakes, it might carry with it profound meaning, but it would be a very different sort of meaning for everyone and might have a surface-level appeal beforehand. It brings with it bits of destruction, of expression, and of austerity; none are privileged, but each makes the other a bit sharper, a bit more immediate, and maybe even a bit more proper. And lastly, it is not quite irreverent music—this can be a dangerous thing—but it might be a little cheeky. It is music for a moment, and music to enjoy.
